1. For those who apply for a visa
Apply for whom:
- in eighteen (18) years have been nine (9) living as a permanent resident in Australia.
- has completed three (3) months of service in the armed forces before January 19, 1981.
2. Benefits of visa

4. Selection Requirements
To be eligible for the visa either as a former permanent resident or a former Defence Service personnel in the country must meet several requirements.
Previous Permanent Residents
If you have been previously a permanent resident and want to regain their status, must prove that:
- has lived 9 years out of 18 in Australia as a permanent resident .
- is under 45 years old at the lodge the visa application.
- has never been an Australian citizen.
- has maintained close links with Australia either for business, cultural or personal ties. These links include:
- have maintained relationships with family and friends in Australia.
- evidence of frequent visits to Australia whether for business, cultural or personal reasons.

If you are running as a former member of the Armed Forces must prove that:

5. Constraints in the implementation

6. obligations
